The Great Plains Development Authority is deploying a cognitive city twin and digital alpha urban OS at its industrial park in Kansas, as part of a partnership with Smart City Labs. The deployment will integrate physical infrastructure, real-time operational data, edge and cloud intelligence, and immersive visualization.

The system, which includes a high-fidelity digital twin of the campus and proving grounds, will enable operators to visualize, simulate, and manage infrastructure, logistics, utilities, safety, and expansion in a single environment. It will also provide decision-grade visibility into performance, risk, capacity, and expansion scenarios, supporting underwriting, insurance optimization, ESG reporting, and long-term capital planning.

The deployment is expected to establish Great Plains as one of the most advanced intelligent industrial campuses in the United States, with the ability to adapt to emerging industries such as autonomous systems, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, logistics, and national resilience initiatives.

“Great Plains represents the future of intelligent industrial development,” said Jack Illes, Managing Partner of Smart City Labs. “By deploying our cognitive city twin and digital alpha urban OS, we are creating a learning system that compounds value over time.”

The partnership is planned to transform Great Plains from a traditional industrial park into a fully instrumented, AI-enabled innovation ecosystem. The deployment is expected to showcase the full capability stack of Smart City Labs’ platform across industrial, logistics, testing, and innovation environments.
